Meg Lusardi

Executive Vice President

Meg Lusardi, a mechanical engineer with more than 25 years of experience in private-sector, nonprofit and civil service energy engineering and operations positions, joins the PowerOptions team in February as its Executive Vice President. Lusardi comes to PowerOptions from a position as acting commissioner at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources. In the newly created PowerOptions role, Lusardi will lead a team, building on the consortium’s highly successful business platform, ensuring that PowerOptions remains responsive to customers’ evolving needs, and helping strategize growth to shape the nonprofit’s future.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Meg, who is a creative leader with proven analytic and managerial skills,” said PowerOptions President and Chief Executive Officer Cynthia Arcate. “Meg has a deep understanding of the energy sector and her firsthand experience with nonprofits, coupled with her work leading on statewide energy issues give her a clear understanding of the needs of our current members and will help us continue to grow.”

Lusardi holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame. She worked for nearly a decade as a project manager at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and spent the last 10 years working her way up from analyst to acting commissioner at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, including the position of director of the Green Communities Division, a first in the nation program serving municipalities’ energy needs. Lusardi’s experience in nonprofits stems from 6 years helping homeless and low-income families overcome poverty at Dorchester-based nonprofit Project-Hope, where she was chief operating officer.
