Brian A. Tracey

Director of Research and Program Development

Brian Tracey, PowerOptions’ Director of Research and Program Development, is an energy industry professional and engineer with top-line experience in private sector energy generation projects and government regulation. Brian came to PowerOptions from GenPower Services, where he served as Senior Project Engineer after working as an energy consultant and, previously, for the Massachusetts Division of Energy Resources.

As Director of Research and Program Development, Brian plays a key role in supporting the development of new programs, including leading the design and development of PowerOptions’ new industry-leading solar program.

Prior to joining PowerOptions and his previous work at GenPower, Brian worked as an energy consultant to La Capra Associates in Boston, as Energy Technology Director for General Compression, Inc., in Newton and as a Senior Gas and Power Analyst for the Massachusetts DOER, among other roles.

Tracey is the author or co-author of several significant reports on energy trends. He received a Masters of Science degree from Columbia University in 2000 and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Michigan in 1996.
