Financing for energy-related capital improvement projects
HEFA offers PowerOptions members a tax-exempt financing program.

HEFA's Value Lease program is a low-cost, easy-to-use source of tax-exempt financing for energy conservation or capital equipment replacement projects. Upgrade or replace your HVAC system; replace boilers or chillers; replace windows; upgrade lighting; install water conservation equipment; install meters or an energy control system. We will help you finance projects that will help you conserve energy resources and lower your institution's energy bills.
There are many reasons to complete an energy conservation projects:
- Save money on your institution's energy bills--projects usually pay for themselves.
- Reduce your facilities' total cost of energy, and release funds for other purposes.
- Extend the life of your equipment, or obtain state-of-the-art efficient technology.
- Efficiently comply with government regulation.

You borrow with tax-exempt interest rates, which are much lower than rates of conventional vendor or bank financing. We can customize your financing to meet your particular cash flow needs. While PowerOptions is available to all nonprofit organizations and state and federal facilities, this financing program is only available to not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations.
