2007-2011 Natural Gas Program
We are pleased to annouce that Hess Energy has been chosen as the supplier for the PowerOptions Natural Gas Program. The contract provides for competitively priced, full, firm natural gas supply with no hidden costs and no usage limitations. The contract offers great flexibility allowing members to lock in basis and NYMEX rates for their choice of term, through October 31, 2011.

Pricing
Full, firm, non-interruptible supply that offers fixed pricing for both the NYMEX and Basis, which when timed correctly, should result in savings over what you would be charged by your local gas distribution company (Keyspan/Boston Gas, Bay State Gas, NStar/COMGas, Berkshire Gas, etc). Pricing will depend on when a member requests a quote, the contract term, and account usage. Rates change daily. Members should fax copies of each account’s recent LDC bill to PowerOptions (fax: 617-737-8366) or to their assigned Hess account representative to obtain pricing. Members must be in good standing (membership fee paid) to execute a contract. Interruptible supply options are available and members should contact PowerOptions to obtain more information.
Relief from Penalty Charges
There are no usage limitations or penalties in the PowerOptions contract. The supplier provides natural gas nomination and balancing services at no additional charge and is responsible for any imbalance penalties. Many energy retail companies’ contracts leave these costs to the responsibilit of the buyer. In our contract, Hess will not – which cuts your risk and could increase your savings even more. A member is responsible for reporting any anticipated significant changes in consumption (e.g., opening or closing buildings) to the supplier and they handle the rest.

To help you attain maximum savings, PowerOptions staff and Hess account representatives are available to review current gas market trends and your annual usage patterns to help evaluate how your natural gas purchase might be timed to take advantage of market fluctuations. PowerOptions staff tracks pricing and tries to notify members when pricing becomes attractive. PowerOptions continuously monitors the contract, provides ongoing education regarding gas market issues and are available to answer your questions.
