Carter Wall named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of PowerOptions

Boston, July 10 - PowerOptions, the energy buying program for nonprofit organizations administered by the Massachusetts Health and Educational Facilities Authority (HEFA), today announced Carter Wall as new chief operating officer. Ms. Wall has an extensive background in energy and program operations, most recently overseeing the planning process for Harvard University's Allston campus and managing the energy strategy for the university.

"PowerOptions is very fortunate to attract a candidate with the breadth of experience that Carter Wall brings to the program," said Benson T. Caswell, president of PowerOptions and executive director of HEFA. "Her wide background, which includes negotiating energy contracts, participating in regulatory proceedings, and leading planning teams, makes her a great match for the mission of PowerOptions."

In addition to planning Harvard's Allston campus and managing the university's energy strategy, Ms. Wall directed the finance and program implementation practice at Landrum & Brown, in Chicago. Ms. Wall also worked with the global power and utility investment banking group at Merrill Lynch, in New York.

"Energy costs have been increasing at alarming rates, and nonprofit organizations, now more than ever, need to minimize its impact to the bottom line," said Ms. Wall. "I look forward to contributing to the continued success of PowerOptions and the savings it brings to institutions throughout Massachusetts."

Ms. Wall holds a master's degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and an undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College.
