Solar Program

PowerOptions has leveraged the buying power of its extensive membership base to negotiate best in class services and pricing for solar energy services with SunEdison, a global leader in solar energy services and development.

Benefits

PowerOptions has applied its energy expertise and conducted a robust solicitation and pre-negotiated the terms and conditions as well as pricing for this program – saving its members the cost and ensuring best in class solar opportunities. This program is available for all-sized projects and guarantees financing for creditworthy members. Going solar not only can reduce energy costs, it can also help reduce our carbon footprint and demonstrate commitment to sustainability. All the while generating electricity tied to a low, predictable rate.

Types of programs offered to PowerOption members

1. PPA Option: SunEdison will build solar PV systems on the rooftops and/or available land resources of PowerOptions members with no upfront cost—PowerOptions members simply purchase the electricity generated at long-time predictable energy rates through a power purchase agreement or PPA.

2. Net Metering Credits Option: SunEdison will also offer PowerOptions members “net metering credits” generated from solar systems located at another location in the state.

To Participate in the program

The Solar Program is only available to PowerOptions members. Contact Brian Tracey, PowerOptions Director of Research and Development, at 617-737-8480 to get started. If you're not a member and would like information about the benefits of being a part of the consortium, click here.
