(HARTFORD, Conn.) September 20, 2017 – PowerOptions, New England’s leading nonprofit energy consortium, announced today that The Village for Families & Children, a nonprofit helping vulnerable children, adults and families in the Greater Hartford region, has renewed their energy supply contract for another year.
“We’ve been a member of PowerOptions for over a year now, and they’ve been a true asset to us,” said Galo Rodriguez, President and CEO of The Village. “Their team helps guide our decision-making with their energy expertise and answers our questions. We renewed our membership so we can continue to benefit from their knowledge of the energy market, and the cost-savings on energy purchasing.”
With nearly 500 members across Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, PowerOptions solicits competitive bids from leading energy suppliers, negotiating beneficial pricing on behalf of their nonprofit members for cost-savings and reliability. PowerOptions’ members purchase approximately $200 million in energy annually through the electricity and natural gas programs.
“The Village was one of our first members in Connecticut and we’re thrilled they’re continuing to work with us,” said PowerOptions CEO Cynthia Arcate. “It’s a testament to the value we provide our members—saving them time and money so they can focus resources on pursuing their own important missions.”
“The Village provides critical services to children and families of Greater Hartford, and we are proud to help support their work,” added Arcate.
PowerOptions recently announced the selection of a new electricity supplier—Constellation Energy—that will provide additional value to members. As part of this expanded offering, nonprofits will have access to on-bill energy efficiency financing and energy technology products and services, including electric vehicle charging stations, data analytics and energy storage.
PowerOptions is a nonprofit energy buying consortium that delivers cost savings and predictability to nonprofits and the public sector in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. With nearly 500 members, our collective strength yields optimal pricing and stability for our entire membership of organizations both large and small. PowerOptions was formed to help nonprofits consolidate their energy buying influence. Since 1998, our mission has been to save members time and money.
